Aerospace and Defence Seals

TRP produces technical rubber moulded products for aerospace and defence industries, with solutions for military and commercial applications.

Aerospace – Aircraft and satellites

At TRP, we design and manufacture performance-critical aerospace seals for aircraft and satellites requiring the highest levels of quality and reliability.

Operating in both aerospace and space sectors, TRP provide technical support to advise on material selection and component design on commercial and military projects.

We are capable of producing the following aerospace polymer seals using TRPlast® FFKM, Fluorosilicone FVMQ, HNBR, and Viton Extreme:

  • Components for engine actuation and fuel and braking systems
  • Seals, gaskets, O-rings, AV mounts, diaphragms, and bellows

Defence – Land, sea, air and space

For defence purposes, our rubber formulation and moulding expertise encompass:

  • Providing defence of land, sea and air with conventional technology. Supporting the UK’s nuclear deterrent.
  • Enabling defence of Earth observation and communications satellite networks. All essential with global volatility and to maintaining national security.

CBRN protective equipment, tank track pads, submarine acoustic tiles, ground support to midair refuelling, rocket propulsion, and satellite positioning systems.

Materials – Deep sea to outer space

TRP offer a comprehensive portfolio of materials formulated to provide both chemical resistance and dynamic sealing performance in extreme environmental and climatic conditions.

Required to perform from deep sea to outer space, these environments demonstrate the extremes the equipment should withstand.

Chemical and radiation resistance, vacuum or high pressure, low permeation for CBRN protection, and high and low temperature exposures are among the characteristics required to deliver defence and aerospace sealing solutions.

Quality assurance for our defence and aerospace seals

Quality is guaranteed with our defence and aerospace polymer seals as a result of:

  • TRP’s advanced manufacturing facility, providing all key process stages, enables full traceability from raw materials to finished components.
  • In-house laboratory resource is used to certify critical characteristics of both raw materials and finished goods to ensure total quality and reliability.

Quality documentation to meet customer specifications is presented with every delivery of our moulded rubber products.
