TRP Polymer Solutions specialises in the design and manufacture of high-precision rubber moulded components including food-safe O-rings, and seals made from FDA-compliant materials.
All of our FDA-approved rubber materials are independently tested to FDA 21 CFR177.2600 (d, e & f) and comply with Regulation (EC) 1935/2004 of the European Parliament and of the council of 27th October 2004. We have also developed a range of 3A sanitary rubber compounds and USP Class VI rubber materials to complete our range of food grade rubber seals.
In the food industries CIP (Clean-in-Place) and SIP (Sterilisation in Place) are automated methods for cleaning and sterilising equipment without disassembly. CIP involves using chemicals to remove product residues, while SIP uses steam or other sterilising agents to kill microorganisms. The aggressive chemicals used in CIP processes and the high temperatures for steam sterilisation can have a detrimental effect on any rubber seals.
Food-safe O-rings and food safe rubber seals must not only be suitable for use with food, they must also be able to withstand the processing conditions including CIP / SIP regimes. For many applications FKM seals offer the best performance with their improved resistance to the chemicals and temperatures used in these processes.

Our range of FFKM materials are capable of withstanding extremely harsh chemicals and temperatures.
We offer a wide selection of O-ring materials, including fluoroelastomers (FKM) and PTFE. We manufacture PTFE / rubber composite mouldings with PTFE bonded to an energised elastomer core, making it hardwearing, robust and reliable – ideal for use in the food industry.
